Long time no post!

Well its been awhile since I have updated my blog. Things have just been chugging along so well. The kids have spent their entire summer in the pool! We have had friends and family from out of town visit us, since we cant visit them. Our big adventures this summer were taking the kids out to breakfast and a trip to Costco! Who says you need to go to Disneyland? I can't believe that its August already, where has the time gone???? Jason has been doing so well, he is on crutches now and is able to drive himself! Yes, no more driving him around to all his doctor appointments! Although it was like we were on a date just the two of us with no kids. He is very motivated to get back to normal as soon as possible! He pushes him self very hard in psychical therapy that he still has 3 days a week. He is going to start working from home any day now, as soon as the doctor fills out some paper work. But of course then there is me! Now that I am 29 weeks my body decided that needed some excitement. Things have just been two easy around here I guess. About 3am this morning I woke up with contractions about 5 min apart. I waited almost an hour and then finally told myself to call the doctor. Of course he said to get to the hospital! So then I have to decide ok do I try and drive myself so Jason can stay with the kids? Well after 5 min of thinking that might work my contractions got strong enough that I had to breath thru them. So then the question was, Who do you call at 4am and say, Hey want to come over? Jen and Ken Thomson were so excited to come over and play. So of course when I do get to the hospital my OB had already called to see how I was. After several shots of medication, a few tests and several hours of laying around I was sent home. I will see my OB tomorrow for the official plan, which I am hoping is not total bed rest and more like home arrest. I do know that for me the goal is always to make it to 36 weeks. And that is just fine with me, I don't mind having little babies. So for now I take a wonderful medication Terbutaline that makes me shake with nervous energy while trying to hold still. Being filled with the nesting feeling of wanting to clean the house from top to bottom and organize every drawer or closet, doesn't help the resting that I need to do. But for now I know that the most important thing I can do is keep this little person inside for a while longer. That is what keeps me from going insane! This is just another temporary setback in our lives. This year has been pretty crazy, but the lessons we have learned and still learn are invaluable.

June 4th 2009

Wow its been over two months since Jason's accident. He sure has come a long way since the first day when we just thought he had a simple broken leg. We went to the Orthopedic Surgeon this week and his bones are healing, his leg is just taking its time. He is now able to start therapy on his left hand and get some strength back so he can be ready for crutches soon!!! Here he is practicing at therapy the other day. Its so nice to see him upright! We also went to the Plastic Surgeon this week and his skin graft is doing very well. He was given the "ok" to shower and wash it, now if only he could stand in the shower! I will post a picture of it so Krista, don't look at it cause you will think its gross! Ha Ha To me its so much better than it was, but still has a way to go before looking like normal skin. The dark skin around the edges will fall off like a scab and look smother underneath. Also his burns around that area are healing, just slowly. All in all things are progressing and I feel like we are getting somewhat of a normal life. Now if I could just get the hospital bed out of my family room things would be wonderful! We continue to see blessing showered upon our family. All the prayers said on our behalf are really making a difference.

What else can happen?

So this past week I started to have some pain in my jaw. It got so bad that I couldn't sleep or eat or drink! So I get a babysitter on short notice, go in to the dentist and find out I needed a root canal! Of course I do, what else right. I laughed, and the dentist didn't really see the humor in it. I told her that when I was pregnant with my daughter Cayden, my wisdom teeth came in and they got infected. It was a horrible experience, and of course Jason was hunting in Utah so I had to do it all by my self. We all know the saying, "When it rain's it pours". Its only fitting now that I am pregnant with another girl my teeth are going to go crazy. On a good note, things with Jason are progressing well. He is becoming more independent which give me more time to do things like dust and laundry. Gee who would have thought I would be so happy to do that! He will meet with his plastic surgeon this week. I want to ask when he can get his leg wet. He would also love to stick his legs in the pool. Not sure how he will get them in there but it would be nice to have the option.

What is it???

So here are the pictures from my ultrasound yesterday!!! I went with Jason, wheelchair and all but he was glad to be there for the exciting news. If you look at the pictures closely you can find out what we are having. Checking to make sure all the important stuff was there. What a face, yawning already! Ok sooo.... Did you see it? It's right on the picture in the upper left side!!! What does it say???? Its a girl! Cayden is sooooo happy she will finally have a sister.

So tomorrow morning i have yet another ultrasound. This time I will be far enough along to find out the sex of the baby. Of course Cayden wants a sister, but I have told her that she might not. Corbin says he doesn't care and Chance is totally clueless about how much his world is going to change. Either way I cant wait to go thru all the clothes in the garage and thin them out! We have way too many! Any guesses at to what it will be??? I still can't beleive how uneventfull this pregnancy has been. I feel so blessed in so many areas of my life! Jason has started his psychical therapy and we see daily improvements in his flexibility in his hands. He is becoming more independent which is great! I wish there was some crystal ball I could look into and see when he will be back to normal. But alas, I will have to just trudge along with him. He is getting more eager to get out and see people and places.
