Well I guess I needed to update my blog and here is the perfect reason. Jason was in a motorcycle accident on Wednesday night, April 1st. What a terrible April fools joke, unfortunately it was no joke. He left the house about 6pm to go to his softball game. The kids and I were going to follow him in the car, but you know how long it take to get kids in the car. Just as we were going to go out the door I get a call from some strange guy who called himself Craig. He proceeded to tell me that my husband was just in an accident and he was going to the hospital and that they are saying he is going to survive! In my head I am thinking this is the worst joke of I have ever heard. I was waiting for him to laugh and say April Fools! He then told me where the accident was and to come there quick. But that was all he said to me.
After getting off the phone I thought, I can't take the kids with me. They cannot see their father like this, I didn't even want to see it. I called Diane Abbott for some reason her name came to mind instantly. She said she would come to the house so I could leave.
Then I got a call from Eric Arcia who told me that he was with Jason and he was going to be ok. I can't tell you what it meant to me to have someone he knew to be with him. It was a comfort to know that Eric would watch over him until I could get there. I could hear Jason talking in the background. Of course he was asking if he hurt anyone and if this was his fault. He was more worried about everyone else, and I knew that was a good sign. He was still the same old Jason.
After getting off the phone with Diane I knew that I had to tell the kids but I needed to calm down first. I went into the family room where they were watching tv and told them that we were not going to daddy's softball game. I told them that he was in an accident and he had a broken leg. He was going to the hospital and mommy was going to be with him. We knelt down and had a family prayer together, they were so quiet, even the baby was! After our prayer I knew that everything was going to ok. I knew that the Lord was watching out for him and that he would continue to do so.
By the time I got to the scene of the accident Jason was gone, which is a blessing for me. I am so grateful that I don't have those memories of him on the ground. I did see the accident scene, it was horrible. As I walked from the curb to the middle of the street I could only see the white truck. As I walked around the truck I saw his motorcycle laying on the ground with the front half under the front end of the truck! It didn't look like a motorcycle, only the rear wheel and his exhaust pipes were recognizable. There was blood on the ground near by which I was pretending was not Jason's.
I gave our insurance info to the police officer there. He told me that the woman driving the truck went to flip a U turn and ran right into Jason. She never even looked to make sure there were no cars. Eric was waiting to drive me to the hospital. When we got there we waited what seemed like an eternity before I was taken back to Trauma where he was. When I saw him, I was so relieved, he looked so much better than I expected. He didn't have a scratch on his face, neck or shoulder area! What a testament to full faced helmets.
He was apologizing to me about everything and I told him I don't care about anything but him! He is alive and that is all that matters. I asked someone if there was time for him to receive a blessing before he went into surgery. Bishop Woodbury and Eric Arica came back with me to give him a blessing. The surgeon came to talk to us and show me his x-ray. It looked pretty bad, two in the big bone and one in the little bone. He was wheeled into surgery about 10pm and then I really got nervous. Danny Sampson and Bishop Woodbury sat with me, thanks for that. I think I would have gone crazy there all alone. I am sure they think that I am crazy. I have no idea what we talked about.
A short time after surgery started the surgeon came out and told me that his right hand looked also broken and dislocated, which I thought it was, it didn't look right, and that a bone in his right foot was broken. He needed my permission to fix it. 2 and 1/2 hours later he came back to tell me that things went pretty well. They put a metal rod and screwed it to his bones. They also found that his heel was fractured! He also has a large open wound that will need a skin graft later on down the road. He tore a large chunk of muscle off. We got into a room about 4:30 in the morning. They gave me a cot to sleep on so I could stay with him.
Thursday afternoon they did an x-ray of his left hand and found that it too was broken at the wrist and thumb! So he wont be getting around anytime soon on crutches. He also needed a blood transfusion Thursday night from the initial loss of blood and with surgery. Friday morning his color was coming back and he was even able to stand up for a minute, with some assistance.
It may sound crazy but I am just thrilled with the injuries he has. I know that things could have been so much worse worse. None of his injuries are life threatening, he can heal and be whole again. It will be along bumpy road, but I will gladly take it with Jason every step of the way.
I want to thanks all of you for your prayers and thoughts. Its very comforting to know how many people love and support us. I will try to update his condition as much as I can. I'm sure you understand how busy I will be in the upcoming weeks.

Cayden's Tea Party
January 16th was Cayden's 5th birthday! I can't believe that she is going to start school this next year. On her actual bday I took her to the Aqua Nail salon to get her nails done. It was so cute to see her in the big chair getting pamperd. She absolutly loved it! Of course mom got hers done too.
She wanted to have a Princess Tea Party on Saturday. Jason and Corbin went shooting for the day. I guess the thought of having to dress up scared them off.
The girls came dressed up ready to dine. She had heart shaped PB&J sandwiches. Pink cookies, pink and purple soda in their glass tea cups. She even had a "cupcake" cake.
New Years Snow Trip
We had a family trip to the snow on New Years eve! My brother Darryl and his wife and baby. My mom and then my little family all drove up to the lake. We spent a few hours there going up and down the hill. Had a picnic lunch, some Hot Chocolate and treats. Of course then it was time for the babies to nap so we went home.

Christmas time!
The holidays came and went so I guess I need to post something about it.
This year was our first time staying in Clovis. We have always gone to Stockton and split the time between our two families. Let me say that neither side was too thrilled with our decision. But I could not have imagined a more perfect Christmas Day!!!! Its wonderful to wake up in your own bed. Have your kids so excited cause Santa come to "Their" house. We had such a fun time just hanging out and playing with our new toys. Not to mention all the treats to eat all day long.
Here is the video of Chance and one of his gifts. He could care less!
Its about time!
Its about time that I updated my blog! I am sure that your sick of looking at the same old stuff just as much as I am. In my defense though its been pretty busy, plus I had a broken computer for awhile.
So lets get to it! On December 2nd Corbin turned 8! We had a family party for him right after Thanksgiving while we were in Stockton.
Then on December 6th Corbin was baptized! I cant believe that I am that age now! Old enough to have an 8 year old child. I got over it and it was a wonderful day. We don't have family in town, but some came that were able to share the special day with us. We know that the others were there in spirit. Also we have a great ward family who supports us so much.
Corbin was part of a Stake Baptism so he was lucky to be with his friend Carson Walker. They are in the same primary class, so cool for him.
Corbin was so excited to get baptized by his father. It is such a big thing in a young persons life. Was I ever that young? I don't really remember my own baptism but I will never forget his. The spirit was so strong that day. I was such a joy to watch these children enter the water. And then come out with the biggest smiles I have ever seen.
Then we had the annual ward Christmas party. It was a blast! Of course Santa was there to make sure the kids were being good. And to see if they had decided what they wanted for Christmas yet!
